Drawing Lab Challenge #3

Let the industrial revolution begin...

This is the third challenge post for the Drawing Lab Challenge. Grab your copy of 'Drawing lab for mixed media artists: 52 creative exercises to make drawing fun' and join us as we tackle the book together. Details of the challenge and joining can be found here.

This week the challenge is...

Lab 36 (Page 98).

We've been drawing some organic stuff, now let's fiddle with some machinery :D

Have at it!

  1. Yikes, this one looks hard! I did the one eyed monsters, but I'm too embarrassed to post them, even in Flickr where nobody knows me or even looks at my stuff. They were all awful! Maybe I need to draw some machines to dismantle my one-eyed monsters.

  2. Aww, could you send them to me anyway? (contact details at the top right of this blog) You shouldn't be ashamed of your work, regardless of what it turns out to be. if anything, you should be proud simply because you did it. Many people fail miserably simply because they don't make the effort (I've been there, trust me), so any result is an achievement. And I love having you here!

Please don't feel pressured to perform in the challenge. Lay back and just let it happen. These are exercises, not masterpieces, and I'd love to see anything you come up with. Feel free to email them to me if you're not comfortable displaying them. ::hugs::

As for this challenge, I'm thinking simple shapes, a dash of dimension and, hey, we could come up with anything. I'm currently hooked on the idea of cogs. Could go anywhere with that :D

    Hope to see your stuff.

(who had two five second one-eyed monsters that didn't make it to my blog, cos they weren't the greatest, I can send you them if you like ::hugs::)

  3. I had a second thought (which, for me is astonishing because I usually limit myself to one a day) and I put up my one-eyed monsters in our Flickr group. After really looking at them with a fresh (one) eye this morning, I found one I quite liked. Go figure. I would love to see whatever you did on your end, you can email me at kimmermcc@yahoo.ca or put them up in Flickr. Be brave!
