Embers, Acrylic on board, approx. 300 x 300 mm. |
Anyways, I didn't know what I was going to paint when I started and it just happened. I wanted to play with colour graduation (but then I always do :D) and decided to go with the yellows through to red. I also wanted to play with thick paint, something I've never really done before (I'm too much of a stinge). It was fun, and I like the glow.
Ooh, and the day is not over...I might be able to do something else. What an odd concept :D
Nutty
(I did something, finally)
I don't know why you say "It's not much" -- I think it's very cool! I love the colours -- even if they aren't true to life because of photography challenges (to which I can totally relate!)
ReplyDeleteSo pretty love the colors.
ReplyDeleteSuch vibrance! I beg you to do more in acrylic!
ReplyDeleteWow! It looks like the picture is glowing, that is very very cool! I cannot for the life of me to convince myself to do thick paint in acrylic, I keep thinking "but then I will run out and will need to buy MORE paint". I might have to reconsider my approach now.
ReplyDeleteIt came out very pretty, it actually looks like it's glowing. I myself haven't painted in forever, I think you've inspired me!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.
ReplyDeleteI find that the light affects reds more than any other color when I am trying to photograph things.
Wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteIt turned out beautifully! I love the graduated colours. Did you start with the lightest first?
Oooh! I love it! The colors and textures. Really looks great.
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous!! Really gives the feeling of embers sparking off a fire at night.
ReplyDeleteIts gorgeous! Sorry, been so quite. Head buried in mosaic making. My exhibition is 3 weeks away - eeeeek! x
ReplyDeleteNutty! This is stunning! I LOVE it!
ReplyDelete"I'm too much of a stinge" made me chuckle :)
ReplyDeleteI think this is fantastic!!! (It does look like it's glowing)
I am also having lots of problems photographing/scanning my work... aaargh!
Hope you've had a fabulous day creating :)

p.s. My "Day 7" is also my Drawing Lab Challenge piece
Love the colours and well done for using "thick paint". That's something I plan to try one day - need to get some decent paint first!
