So do you think I have enough challenges tied into this post? ::grin:: Don't worry, I have a piece for each as today was a good art day.
|
Exhilaration, acrylic on board, approx. 300 x 300 mm. |
Savour the exhilaration. 'Savour' is the challenge word this week over at
Illustration Friday. All I could think of was hanging in the moment, experiencing that second to its full extent, savouring the exhilaration. A reflection of a moment I experienced several years ago that I wrote about
here. There was no lightning in that incident, but I still savoured the moment to its full extent.

Gungurru, gel pen on black card, approx. 200 x 200 mm. |
This
Art Every Day Month exercise was a follow through from
yesterday's explorations. I had been planning to experiment with white and colours on black, but only managed to buy the pens a few days ago. It didn't scan very well because the pens were metallic and glitter, but I'm happy with the effect in reality. I'm not confident about the composition of this piece, though, and may draw another to correct it.
Sunday Sketches - these are a couple of sketches from this week's adventures.
The prep sketch for
Cupid for
Creative Tuesday which I didn't manage to enter in the end because my phone line died on Tuesday.
And the start of a sketch that followed on from the cheeky look on Cupid's face. Nanny Numbat...
Not finished. Don't know if he ever will be.
Nutty
(who had a great arty day)
I like your trees especially, but would be interested to see if you do adjust the composition - I'm still too new to art to have much of a sense of this. Exhilaration absolutely is the word for the top painting. How wonderful to have been in the position of that figure even without the lightning!
ReplyDeletenice. lovely painti ngs...really like the pink on black and the sketches are cute as well...
ReplyDeletePowerful!
ReplyDeletehaha! wow - this post runs the extremes. Such a versitile artist. What a gift. I too love the tree and the cupid made me laugh. The top painting is so expressive.

ReplyDeleteYou sure did have an arty day!! Wowzie. My favourite is the exhileration piece - it's so powerful, moody and FAB-U-LOUS!!
ReplyDeleteWow so much art! You are very talented
ReplyDeleteWow, there is a lot of emotion in that first painting! Both paintings are well done. Love the sketches and cupids expression is a little devious.
ReplyDeleteWhat a busy girl you've been. Love the power in the first. I really love the expression on Nanny Numbat's face. Numbat brilliant name too. Did Cupid miss and fire his arrow into Nanny Numbat's clean washing or into your paintpots that splashed onto Nanny Numbat's washing. Sorry got a bit carried away there.
ReplyDeleteYoga on the beach? Love the trees!
ReplyDeleteWow! I LOVE "Exhilaration"!! What a fabulous painting!
ReplyDeleteThe others are lovely as well but the first takes one's breath away, as it sounds like the moment did yours!
Oh, I truly love your work! The top piece is so dynamic and the lighting is fantastic - there is so much emotion there! The tree is so beautiful and delicate... all of these are lovely!
ReplyDeleteGood stuff, here! Exhiliration is just breathtaking. Love the colors and the silouhette. Savoring the moment, is what we all need to do more of. Love that.
